Every year, Christmas music shows up earlier and earlier. By the time Halloween is over, somebody is already jingling bells and roasting chestnuts. (And I know my friend Dean has probably already mentioned the number of days left before Christmas.)
But here's the thing:
It ain't Christmas yet.
What about November?
What about harvest moons, football games, pumpkin pie, family traditions, long drives home, and gathering around a table full of people you're thankful for?
So, naturally, I spent the last week doing what any reasonable person would do:
I made a Thanksgiving album.
Not a parody album.
Not a novelty turkey record.
An actual collection of autumn songs.
The result is November's Songbook: A Collection of Autumn Songs, featuring ten original tracks inspired by the season.
- ๐ Harvest Moon Tonight
- ๐งต Velvet Threads
- ๐ Home for Thanksgiving
- ๐ Thankful Bells Ring
- ๐บ Turkey Day Swing
- ...and a few more along the way.
Some are heartfelt. Some are nostalgic. One involves an argument over a turkey drumstick.
As one does.
If you've ever thought November deserves a soundtrack of its own, give it a listen:
๐ต November's Songbook
When you give it a listen, let me know your favorite track. I'm genuinely curious whether people gravitate toward Harvest Moon Tonight, Velvet Threads, or the completely ridiculous Turkey Day Swing.
Christmas gets all the songs.
This year, November gets a few of its own.
Happy November, everyone. ๐๐ฆ๐ถ
Created with a lot of imagination, a surprising amount of iteration, and Google's Flow Music.
